About Free to Be Programs
Free to Be Programs provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages in support homes in Los Angeles and Ventura County. We have two programs, one for children under 18 years of age, and one for adults.
We understand that not everyone is equipped to care for an individual with developmental disabilities. It is a brave choice to ask for help and loot to provide your family member with an enriched quality of life and care. In order to qualify for our program, Free to Be requires a referral from your regional center service coordinator.
Once we determine that an individual qualifies for our program, we match them with a support family who has been trained to work with individuals with special needs.
Child Residential Program
Children (ages 0-17) can be placed with one of our support families. This program is licensed by the State of California Community Care Licensing and vendored by North Los Angeles County Regional Center. This program is designed to work with children who have developmental disabilities who display behavior problems and skill deficits.
Adult Residential Program
Many of the children we serve in our children’s program transfer into our adult program when they finish high school. This program is monitored by the California Department of Developmental Services and is vendored by North Los Angeles County Regional Center. This program is designed to work with adults with developmental disabilities who would like to live in a family environment.
Our Service Area
Free to Be Programs serves families partnered with the North Los Angeles Regional Center. This includes San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley, and East Ventura County.
